Module One: Management Foundations 1-4 pm, November 19th, 2009

Focuses new managers on understanding themselves and what they bring to the management experience that will affect their performance, style, impact, and managerial relationships.

Values
Examine and understand value sets and their influence on work style and priorities. Also examines the possible value sets of others and the potential for value-based conflicts with subordinates, peers, and upper management.
Motivations
Learn about internal and external motivators that can drive behavior.
History and Exposure
Explore past experiences, role models, and education that affect, by shaping, enhancing or limiting, the outlook and approach to managing others.
Your Skills
Assess current skill levels in a variety of areas that affect managerial success to identify areas for personal leadership development

Module Two: Managing Others 1-4 pm, December 3rd, 2009

Provides managers with the essential tools and framework to be successful in their roles and effective in managing direct reports. Practical tools and exercises make this training useful immediately to those wanting to know how to foster productivity in those they manage.

Explore and define the many roles and responsibilities a manager has to the company, upper management, peers and subordinates.

Understand critical management tools and how to apply them to produce results and meet expectations.

Motivating Others--
Applying motivation principles to keep direct reports engaged

Learn perspectives and steps to create collaborative conversations and synergistic outcomes.

Module Four: Coaching for Performance 1-4 pm, January 14th, 2010

Exposes managers to approaches to coaching employees to accelerate their development and performance. Provides the tools to begin building a high-performing team, and opportunities to practice and get coaching on various coaching skills.

Explore different styles and approaches to coaching direct reports that can influence effectiveness.
• Assessment and Goals
Learn steps to identify high payoff areas for development, set goals and process, and initiate a successful coaching endeavor.
• Coaching Feedback
The nuts and bolts techniques that make the coaching experience both low-effort and highly-effective, Learn skills for coaching that create change in behavior, focus, awareness, and perspective, including ways to improve the behaviors of highly resistant and difficult employees.
